Navigating Transition: Demystifying the experience of being 'in-between' identities

Do you feel like you've achieved the success you desired, but something's missing? Like you're constantly caught up in 'doing' and lacking that feeling of 'being'? Or off-purpose in some way? This workshop is all about reconnecting with self and exploring the inner journey of transition.

About the event

This is a workshop about navigating transition: demystifying the experience of being 'in-between' identities.  This may describe you:

- highly ambitious, achieving success but at some level wondering 'what is it all for?'

- filling every spare moment with 'doing' (including 'doing' activities to be more in the moment)

- not knowing how to stop or say no

- feeling guilty at the idea of disappointing anyone who needs you

- wanting to be more connected to your inner wisdom and intuition

In contrast to the popular 'hero's journey' quest for achievement, the inner journey of transformation is more about internal awakening.  The content in this workshop, which draws from Maureen Murdoch's book the Heroine's Journey, was invaluable to me as I navigated existential moments during the largest self-transformation in my own life, normalising and demystifying the experience by articulating the path ahead. I hope it will be just as impactful for you. You'll leave with a framework for navigating change and practical tools so you can navigate this process more comfortably for yourself.

Who's it for? Everyone.

What is the Heroine's Journey? Women and men who seek success in a male-oriented world often reject their feminine qualities (which can be seen as passive, manipulative or nonproductive) and instead seek validation for their intellect, ambition and independence. Everything is geared toward 'doing important work in the world', climbing the ladder to prestige, money, and traditional forms of 'success'. At some point, we claim our 'rewards' and achieve our objectives - but might feel a sense of emptiness or loneliness, or even suffer from a serious illness or accident. And this is where we have a choice to reconnect with our feminine qualities, and heal our wounded masculine, on our journey of transformation. The Heroine's Journey, identified by Maureen Murdoch, is the female archetypal narrative for change, involving 10 different and possibly concurrent states, from the separation from the feminine, awakening to feelings of spiritual aridity, initiation and descent (the solo phase), through to healing the mother/daughter split and integrating the masculine and feminine.
